To generate AI videos in Claude, add Higgsfield as a custom connector in Claude, sign in to your Higgsfield account, and describe the video in a chat. Claude picks a Higgsfield model, sets the parameters, runs the generation and returns the clip in the conversation. Each generation uses Higgsfield credits. This guide covers setup, your first video, what you can make, what it costs, and how to fix common problems.
TL;DR
- Add Higgsfield as a custom connector in Claude with the URL
https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, then sign in to Higgsfield. No API key is needed. - Describe the video in plain language. Claude chooses the model, or you can name one in the prompt.
- Every generation through the connector uses credits. Unlimited models and free generations don’t apply.
What Is the Higgsfield MCP Connector?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools. The Higgsfield MCP connector gives Claude access to Higgsfield’s video, image and audio tools, so you can generate from a chat instead of switching to the Higgsfield site.
You need | Details |
|---|---|
A Claude account | claude.ai or Claude Desktop. On the Free plan, Claude allows one custom connector. |
A Higgsfield subscription | Generations use the credits on your plan. |
Permission to add connectors | On Team plans, an Owner or Primary Owner adds the connector in Organization settings → Connectors. On Enterprise plans, people with a custom role that includes Manage access to Libraries can add it too. Members then connect it in Customize → Connectors. |
Higgsfield also works with ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and other compatible AI agents. The setup differs by client: Claude uses a custom MCP connector, ChatGPT uses the Higgsfield plugin, Cursor adds it from its Marketplace, and coding agents such as Claude Code can use the Higgsfield CLI.
How Does the Connector Work?
Three parts share the work. Claude turns your request into generation settings, MCP connects Claude to Higgsfield’s tools, and Higgsfield runs the generation and saves the result to your account. You sign in on Higgsfield’s own page, so Claude never sees your Higgsfield password.
- Claude reads your request and the conversation, picks a model and settings, and writes the prompt. In our test, it split a one-paragraph brief into four shots before generating.
- MCP is the open standard that lets Claude call Higgsfield’s tools. You connect once with the connector URL, and no API key is needed.
- Higgsfield runs the model, generates audio when the model supports it, and returns the clip to the chat. The same clip is saved in History and Assets on higgsfield.ai.
How Do You Connect Higgsfield to Claude?
You set it up once.
Step 1: Open Connectors. In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, go to Customize → Connectors.
Step 2: Add a custom connector. Click + Add, then Add custom connector, name it Higgsfield and paste the URL:
https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp
Step 3: Sign in. Click Connect. A Higgsfield window opens: sign in and authorize access. If you’re already signed in on higgsfield.ai, this happens automatically.
Step 4: Check the connector. Higgsfield now appears in your list of connectors. In a chat, open the + menu → Connectors and make sure Higgsfield is turned on.
Step 5: Test the connection. Open a new chat and ask, “What is my Higgsfield credit balance?” or “List my recent Higgsfield generations.” If Claude answers using Higgsfield, the connection is working. If it answers without calling Higgsfield, check that the connector is turned on and reconnect it.
Claude Code connects through the Higgsfield CLI instead of the connector URL:
npm i -g @higgsfield/cli
higgsfield auth login
npx skills add higgsfield-ai/skills
How Do You Generate Your First Video in Claude?
Open a new chat and describe the video: the subject, the action, the camera and the length. You don’t need to name a model, but you can, for example “Use Seedance 2.5”.
